Mei Jing Ding

Qualified and registered ECE teacher

Kia ora whānau,
My name is Mei and I’m from Malaysia. I speak English, Malay, and Mandarin. I’ve recently completed my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and am now a provisionally registered ECE teacher.

I have a deep passion for working with tamariki. I believe every child has their own unique strengths and grows at their own pace. As a kaiako, I aim to support each child by observing their interests and providing fun, meaningful learning experiences that nurture their development.

I also believe that every child deserves to feel a strong sense of belonging, to be valued for who they are, and to experience warm, respectful relationships with their kaiako and peers. Learning is a two-way journey — I continue to learn so much from tamariki, whānau, and my colleagues every day.

Outside of work, I enjoy relaxing at home or playing board games with friends. On long weekends, I love going on road trips with my sister, her husband, and their son who live in New Plymouth.

I’m excited to continue growing and learning with everyone at Young Learners!
