Kia ora Parents/caregivers,
My name is Alice, and I am a room teacher from Tui team!
I am a wife and a mum of two girls and one boy. I am of Tuvaluan ethnicity, born and raised in Aotearoa, New Zealand. I come from a huge family, so being surrounded by family has shaped me to be the kind, caring, and helpful person that I am.
My teaching philosophy is that every child is unique and full of potential, and as teachers, we should develop the whole child emotionally, socially, and cognitively. I believe that teaching and learning are reciprocal, so both teacher and child learn from each other. I strongly believe that children’s cultural identities and experiences are essential to their success, and every learner has strengths, and my role as a teacher is to help them discover and build on those.
